This month, our Word of the Month is Divine Rest by God’s Help.
In a world filled with pressure, uncertainty, responsibilities, and spiritual battles, God does not call us to carry every burden alone. He invites us to depend on Him, trust His strength, and receive the peace that comes from knowing He is present and working on our behalf.

Divine rest is not giving up, becoming passive, or avoiding responsibility. It is learning to stop striving in our own strength and allowing God to lead, provide, defend, restore, and establish us. It is the confidence that comes when we understand that the outcome does not rest on our ability alone—it rests in the hands of a faithful God.
Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake
Psalm 44:26 — God Is Our Help and Redeemer
This verse is a prayer of dependence. It reminds us that there are moments when we need God to arise on our behalf because our own strength, wisdom, resources, or connections are not enough.
The psalmist does not ask for help because he has earned it; he asks because of God’s mercy. That is important for us to remember. God’s help is not based only on our perfection. It is rooted in His love, His grace, and His faithfulness.
When we are overwhelmed, tired, confused, or facing a situation that feels bigger than us, we can pray with confidence: “Lord, arise for my help.” Divine rest begins when we stop pretending that we can handle everything alone and place our trust in the One who can redeem every situation.
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day…
Acts 26:22 — We Continue by the Help of God
In Acts 26:22, the Apostle Paul recognizes that he has continued, endured, and fulfilled his assignment because of the help of God.
Paul faced hardship, opposition, rejection, imprisonment, and uncertainty. Yet he did not give up. His strength did not come simply from determination; it came from God’s help.
This verse teaches us that the reason we are still standing, still believing, still serving, still praying, and still moving forward is because God has helped us. Some of us can look back over our lives and see moments where we did not know how we would make it, but God carried us through.
Divine rest allows us to acknowledge that we are sustained by God. We do not have to live in fear about tomorrow because the same God who has helped us until this day will continue to help us in the days ahead.
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
2 Chronicles 20:30 — God Gives Rest From Every Side
This scripture gives us a beautiful picture of what divine rest can look like. King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were surrounded by enemies and faced a battle that they could not win in their own strength.
Instead of relying only on military power, they prayed, worshiped, and declared their dependence on God. The Lord reminded them that the battle was not theirs, but His.
God brought victory, and afterward He gave them rest “round about.” That means He gave peace on every side. Not only did He defeat the immediate problem, but He established a season of quiet, stability, and relief.
God is still able to give His people rest from every side. He can bring peace to troubled hearts, wisdom to confusing situations, provision to areas of lack, restoration to families, and strength in times of weakness.
What Divine Rest Means for Us
Divine rest means that we can trust God even while we are waiting for answers.
It means we can pray instead of panic. It means we can worship instead of worrying. It means we can continue doing what God has called us to do without carrying the weight of the entire outcome on our shoulders.
This month, let us ask God to help us release every burden that we were never meant to carry alone. Let us believe Him for rest in our minds, rest in our homes, rest in our health, rest in our relationships, and rest in every area where we have been fighting in our own strength.
God’s help is available. His mercy is sufficient. His presence is near. And when God fights for us, He is able to give us peace from every side.
